We are here to help you care for your cat, from kitten to senior years, to ensure they have a long and happy life with you. It is recommended that your cat has a health check and vaccination once a year. For senior cats (11 years old and older) your vet may recommend your pet to have a health check every 6 months.
Cats are vaccinated against cat flu (feline calicivirus and feline herpesvirus), enteritis (panleukopenia virus) and feline leukaemia (FeLV). Kittens should have a primary course of 2 injections three weeks apart, generally at 9 and 12 weeks of age. The specific requirements of your cat should be discussed with your vet.
Vaccination is the only way to protect your cat from these diseases and is the main reason these diseases are now uncommon. It is important to vaccinate, not only to protect your cat but also the population of cats in the area.
